National Public Lands Day (September 29, 2012) Public lands offer a variety of fishing and boating opportunities. NPLD is the nation's largest hands-on volunteer effort to improve and enhance the public lands Americans enjoy. In 2010, 170,000 volunteers built trails and bridges, removed trash and invasive plants, planted trees and restored our water resources.
National Hunting and Fishing Day (September 22, 2012) Join the nationwide celebration of National Hunting and Fishing Day and help build public support for outdoor lifestyles. Everyone knows about the great traditions and family values that make hunting and fishing special, but fewer people realize the tremendous conservation and economic benefits provided by America’s sportsmen and women.
Take Pride in America is a national partnership established by the U.S. Department of the Interior that aims to engage, support and recognize volunteers who work to improve our public parks, forests, grasslands, wildlife refuges, cultural and historical sites, local playgrounds, and other recreation areas. Together we protect and enhance the special legacy all Americans share—our public lands that cover more than one in every three acres across the nation.
American Rivers: River Action Day American Rivers is a conservation organization dedicated to protecting and restoring healthy natural rivers and the variety of life they sustain for people, fish and wildlife. They deliver innovative solutions to improve river health, raise awareness among decision-makers and the public, and serve and mobilize the river conservation movement.
