It turns out that not all fish stories are lies and that in fact, some of the most outlandish ones are actually true – like the one about a bass worth a million dollars. The million dollar bass bounty is open to all anglers fishing legally in any body of public water in Florida from July 5-August 1. Registration costs $7/day or $19/week, and half of your entry fee goes to protecting Florida’s fish and wildlife habitats.

Take Me Fishing™ is excited to be partnering with Discovery Education on a new initiative called “Explore the Blue.” The goal is to reach children nationwide to inspire a lasting appreciation for the natural world. The campaign is also working to provide parents and teachers – key influences in children’s lives – a set of online tools to promote conservation and youth participation in on-the-water activities.

There are a few things you can count on in Texas this time of year and the heat is at the top of the list. As we head over to East Texas this weekend the expected temperatures are going to be in the high 90’s. This tells me a few things I’m going to need to do to find some quality Bass.
