- C.A.S.T. For Kids
-
Renton, Washington
Updated profile on: January 8th, 2009
About Buddy:
The C.A.S.T. for Kids Foundation was formed in 1991 to join volunteers who love to fish with disabled and disadvantaged children for a day of fishing in the outdoors. The C.A.S.T. for Kids Event was designed to create an environment whereby children and adults could benefit, leaving their problems on shore and sharing a day of fun on the water that they may not otherwise get to experience.
C.A.S.T. for Kids furthers its mission by increasing awareness of disabled and disadvantaged children in communities and teaching appreciation for natural resources. This is all made possible through the cooperation of government agencies and local interest groups, and creates a rare and positive experience for our youth.
During each of the Foundation’s first four years, three events were held in the states of Washington and Idaho. Since then, the total number of annual events has grown to over 50 events across nearly half of United States. Each year more volunteers assist, more donors contribute and more children participate.
In 1996 due to continued requests and overwhelming interest, the Fishing Kids fishing series was developed to introduce and educate all urban youth to the sport of fishing. The Fishing Kids Program, built around the slogan, “Getting more kids fishing, more often,” is designed to create and provide more fishing opportunities for urban youth.
C.A.S.T. for Kids Foundation aims for presence across the nation allowing children everywhere and of any means an opportunity to learn how to fish. We have a partnered with several great organizations and individuals who help us make this possible.

Central Florida, the bass fishing capital of the World!!!
Updated profile on: January 4th, 2009
About Buddy:
You may recall seeing me host the Southern Outdoorsman TV fishing show, which aired out of Knoxville, TN in the late 1980's. I specialize in trophy largemouth bass fishing Central Florida (the fishing capital of the world) where I have made my home since 1989. You may have also read about me, as there have been many articles written my successful techniques as both a tournament fisherman and a fishing guide in various sporting magazines. Or you may have seen me weighing in fish at tournaments all over the country, such as when I qualified for the 2003 Stratos Boats World Championship. Just like many of you out there, I first learned fishing from my Dad, and to respect the outdoors and what it has to offer. I has been fishing all over the country since 1962, but now make my home on Lake Weohyakapka (Walk-in-Water) employing a network of only the finest Orlando area bass fishing guides.
I have previously fished with such distinguished fishermen as the former president of Abu Garcia, Porter Waggoner, Jerry Reed, Tom Mann, Tom Mann Jr., Neil Bonnet and Davey Allison, just to mention a few. I also worked for Abu Garcia as the Assistant Director of Tournaments and Promotions for several years. This experience taught me everything there is to know about spinning and baitcasting reels. I no longer fishes in tournaments because I prefers teaching others about nature and watching the joy on the faces of children and adults alike when they catch their first Florida largemouth black bass!
Being an avid outdoorsman since childhood, I recognized the special needs and desires of others seeking their great outdoor adventure. That is why I created The Southern Outdoorsman Guide Service, after years of networking with the best of the Kissimmee fishing guides and Orlando area bass fishing guides. A complete outdoor outfitter service offering largemouth bass fishing Central Florida, exotic hunting, championship golfing and wildlife airboat excursions with all the special touches to make each trip not easily forgotten. -

About Buddy:
Growing up on or near the water has enabled me to always have a fishing pole in my hands, my first fishing related job, at 19, was rigging balyhoo for a Sportfish I worked on, after that I was hooked....I now own a marine industries company that enables me to be on boats for a living, who could ask for a better job. Although I don't fish for a living...yet...I'm always able to drop a line in the water... whenever.
