I've been fishing since I was four -my dad plunked me down in an old sturdy rowboat with a Merc 10 hp and off we went. Handed me a cane pole and taught me to bait my hook and that began my lifelong obsession with fishing. I grew up on the Gull Lake Chain in Northern Minnesota. Dad taught me how to catch walleye, muskie, large and small mouth bass, Northern Pike, crappie and sunfish. One of the best days of my life was the day, as a 12 year old girl, I skunked my Dad while fishing on Gull for walleye:-) Never let him live it down either lol. He passed a few years back and I still miss him. My family has a place down here on the Myakka River and I've purchased a small boat w/10hp. Now I'm learning to fish for tarpon, grouper, spotted seatrout and snook. I'm lookin for a mentor in this area who is familiar with the Myakka who can help me learn how to fish here and what kind of gear and bait to use. Thieves stole my motor off of my boat and tore the transom to shreds doing so. I'm looking for a good used motor to buy so anyone whose got one can contact me. Looking forward to learning from all of you. You can contact me via email on my profile. Thanks!

1979 Ranger 1870 Bassmaster Classic 90ph Evinrude.
Yes, a 30 year old reliable boat. It's not so much what you fish out of as it is locating baitfish, structure, and developing the patterns for the day.

I own a 1992 Ranger 372V with a Evinrude 150, but according to my youngest boy it is both of ours so who can argue with that.

I own a 1979 32' Marinette with twin Chrysler 318s. It's rigged for fishing, but my husband insists we need a small fishing boat too. =) We'll see.

I have a 2001 Fisher Marsh Hawk 165 with a 50 HP Merc and trolling motors on both ends. They only made this model 2 years. It is a deep V but laid out like a bass boat with front and rear casting platforms. It is all alluminum even the floors no wood rot to worry about. It is cheap to operate as it is reasonably easy on gas.
The only boat I would consider replacing it with would be a Boston Whaler.

We know that our Anglers' Legacy Ambassadors are great fisherman, but how many of you own a boat? Let us know if you own a boat--and if so, what kind you have!
