Dummit Cove or Grove is a more remote place to fish, with access only to foot, kayak or canoe traffic. There are no services here other than a porta-potty. Hotspot Description:
Haul Over Canal is the gateway that connects the Indian River to Mosquito Lagoon. Volumes could be written on the location because of its history, importance to vessel navigation, fishing and other types of recreation. At this location you can fish from all four quadrants of the intersection and launch boats from canoes and kayaks up to probably 20+ foot recreational and flats boats. There is also a Manatee viewing area, as they are pleantiful here. The only service facilities are the occasional porta-potties.
For more information contact your favorite encyclopedia, the following has been taken from Wikipedia:
Mosquito Lagoon is part of the Indian River Lagoon system and the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway. It extends from Ponce de León Inlet in Volusia County, Florida, to the north end of Merritt Island. It connects to the Indian River via the Haulover Canal. The Lagoon divides the city of New Smyrna Beach. It also runs next to the Canaveral National Seashore on Cape Canaveral and the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge. The Kennedy Space Center is located on the lagoon as well.

Hotspot Description:
I nice little city park with restrooms, picnic tables, playground and watefront area. This is not a prime fishing area for kids, due to the distance from the shore to the water front. The distance is just enough to get a line snagged in the rocks. I have personally caught catfish here, and had friends who caught most of the other Indian River species. Hotspot Description:
This is a great family fishing spot with boat launch, public restrooms, and picnic tables. Depending on the wind or time of day, there are plenty of good places to fish within 100-200 yards of this location. Within a quarter mile are places to eat, fuel up and play the kids in a park. GPS Location (DMM): N 28.37.414, W 080.47.720.
