How are you celebrating National Fishing & Boating Week. Across most of the country the weather's expected to be nice, in some cases, downright hot...getting out on the water seems like a perfect diversion for the coming weekend. Have you had a chance to RSVP on TakeMeFishing.org's Facebook page? We'd appreciate it if you did. It only takes a minute and let's us know you're a fan of fishing and boating. Here's the link: https://www.facebook.com/TakeMeFishing More than anything...if you're going fishing, boating or both, please be safe. PFD's (life vests) only work if you wear them. Please make a point of wearing you're PFD at all times when you're in the boat and please keep children in their PFD's at all times around the water...whether they're on the bank or in a boat. Good fishing and let us know how you do!

If you had only one lure to use...what would it be and why? At a glance, this seems like a pretty easy question but when you begin to consider various fish species, applications, water bodies, etc. it becomes an interesting question when it comes to a definitive single answer.

Sunfish are often thought of as targets for kids. They're abundant, found in nearly every state, easy to catch (especially this time of year) and accessible. But not all "sunnies" are hand-sized. Check out this monster, likely a new world record, that tipped the scales at 5 lb. 8 ounces caught at Lake Havasu. Wow...what a monster! See it here: http://bit.ly/m6CBiI "Kids" young and old love catching panfish...how about you this weekend?
