ALEXANDRIA, VA (April 12, 2011) – The Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation (RBFF) today announced they will participate in the Jim Range National Casting Call and Family & Youth Casting Call events on Friday and Saturday, April 15 - 16, 2011 in Washington, D.C. at Fletchers’ Cove, C&O Canal National Historical Park. Hosted by the American Fly Fishing Trade Association (AFFTA) and dozens of other partners on the frontlines of fisheries conservation efforts, the Jim Range National Casting Call event on Friday offers the nation’s top decision makers an opportunity to learn firsthand about the values of fisheries management and the importance of public, private and educational entities working together to improve the health of our watersheds and fisheries. The Family and Youth Casting Call event on Saturday aims to get Washington, DC area kids hooked on fishing and the great outdoors, and to showcase one of the greatest places to get out into nature right in their back yard. The annual FREE event features fishing instruction, nature activities, and the National Park Service Junior Ranger program all within the city limits of our nation’s capital. RBFF staff will be on site with its Take Me Fishing™ casting mat, offering casting instruction to kids.
