the rubrail seal is leaking water in the the boat. I'll take it out only on the river this year. Should I replace the whole seal or just patch it up?

Hola un amigo iba a botar un reel shimano TLD 25 pues el pensaba que no servia porque tiene un punto en que rueda tanto que se forma tremendo enredo, ami me parecio que si servia solo que habia que aprender, como en efecto despues de estudiarlo un tin creo que si sirve. mi pregunta es En que tipo de pesca se utiza este reel ? se lanza eligual que el spinning reel / como controlo que una vez que lo lance no siga rotando gracias
