March 20, 2012 After a long winter, we can't wait to get back on the water and load the cockpit with some Stripers and Blues. But seasoned fishermen know that the water temperature has to cooperate in order to be able to do that. Earlier this week the bay was hovering around 45 degrees - so if the Spring weather conditions continue to rise, it won't be long before we're at that magic 50 degree water temperature - and the Stripers are running. We are also taking reservations for full and half day Sea Bass and Flounder fishing beginning in May...the Flounder limit is still 7 fish per person. What a great way to kick off the summer fishing season. Call us to book your fishing charter - (401) 258-2157 or (941) 773-7246 LET'S GO FISHING!!! CAPTAIN W. DUANE SOUSA, JR. AND FAMILY

March 24, 2011 The Big Boy II is just about ready to go fishing. My son and First Mate Jason Sousa will be firing up the engines this weekend, and doing a little maintenance on the boat to get ready for some Cod Fishing. We are hearing very good reports about Cod fishing on the back side of Block Island, and we will be poking around in a week or so to do a little investigating of our own. We are ready for Striper and Blue fishing which should get going in May/June, along with Fluke. Tautog opens up April 15...We are taking reservations, so please feel free to call us for any other information, or so that we may customize a charter for you. It was a long winter, and Spring is here, so.....LET'S GO FISHING!!!

October 27, 2010 Wednesday, October 27, 2010 was an unbelieveable day on the Gulf of Mexico. Big Boy Two headed offshore in search of big game fish, using not only Florida tackle, but RI tackle as well. Note the red Tube that got hit all day and brought up the big fish....whatever it takes, we bring the fish to the boat and Captain Sousa found them. Below is one of the 30 pound, 4 foot Barracuda that the crew hauled on board. Good job guys!!!

Sunday July 18 Big Boy Sport Fishing Charters doubled down - our morning crew boarded at 7:00 AM and headed off to the Island. Katilynn Silva and friends spent four hours fishing, and nearly limited out - the Bass were all keepers, fat and heavy. Good job guys! At 1:00 PM Mike and Karen Stearns and crew left the dock from more Bassing at the Island. Water and wind had picked up, but the fish were still there biting, and the trip was certainly a success. Many thanks to our Mates and Customers who made this past week an incredible success. Saturday July 17 First Mate Jason Sousa, Captain Duane Sousa, and Christopher Bencivengo headed off the dock at 5:00 AM for a 10 hour day of Shark and Tuna fishing. It was a little bumpy in the AM but water flattened out soon, and not long after the slick was set, and chum was being dumped big Blue "Dogs" were chasing the boat. After all was said and done, the crew brought four huge Blue Sharks to the back of the boat - over ten feet long and weighing over 300 pounds each. What an awesome day. Friday July 16 Brian Ellison and friends from North Carolina booked Big Boy II for a day of Bass fishing off the Island - the water was mostly calm, and little wind - First Mate Zach Harvey helped them fill the cockpit with fat keeper Stripers. Job well done! Thursday July 15 Joseph Allen and family - left the dock for a day of Striper and Blues fishing. The weather turned somewhat uncooperative later in the afternoon, but the crew fished them up anyway. Thanks guys for a great day. Weather was not completely cooperative, rainy and very foggy in the morning, and the guys aboard Big Boy II worked hard for their fish - some nice keeper Stripers, and some through backs too. Saturday June 26, 2010 - 2010 Annual Bass Tournament Big Boy II left Galilee at 4:00 AM and headed to the Block in search of monster Bass in hopes of winning the 2010 Bass Tournament. March 20, 2010 Saturday, March 20, 2010 was a beautiful day on the water - perfect for an offshore trip. The crew left the dock at Stump Pass Marina at 7:00 AM and headed approximately 20 miles offshore looking for big fish. We chummed for a while at set up a good solid slick, and soon after the bite was on - huge Grouper were coming over the side of the boat, pictures taken, and released to get caught another day. Everyone had a good time - weather conditions were beautiful, sunny, flat seas, water warming up, and winds less than 5 knots - beautiful. Hey JayBird - HAPPY BIRTHDAY - we love you!!! Let's Go Fishing!!! Captain W. Duane Sousa, Jr. March 18, 2010 Captain Duane Sousa and crew left Stump Pass early AM in hopes of going offshore, but seas were 5 to 8 feet, and the wind blowing. So we headed for Gasparilla instead to try for some Sheepshead at the old train trestle. Winds were around 10 to 15 knots, with water flat in the Pass. We anchored up at the trestle, got the Sheepshead into a frenzy chumming, and the bite was on. We spent four hours and had our limit - great size fish. Thanks to the "crew" for another great day on the water in Southwest Florida!!! Captain W. Duane Sousa, Jr.
