The 22 year in a row my friend I have canoed a 3 day trip down Ohio Brush Creek. It was the fsirt year to catch a 5 lb smallie. Caught on a 3" twister tail jig and a BulletBobber float. The float did the trick from shore at camp. Check them out at www.bulletbobber.com They are the only float that planes to the side and flips direction with a fllick of the wrist.

I have done my share but can never get enough of shore fishing small rivers. When the fish are hard to reach I use (castable mini planer boards with directional control) called BulletBobbers. They flip direction with the flick of the wrist, giving me on-demand direction control. Here is a link to the BulletBobber website www.bulletbobber.com If I am using bait or soft body lures I usually slip-rig them so I can do a little vertical jiggling in the slack waters. Slip-rigging also allows me to set a bait on the bottom in the middle of eddies. The smallmouth are hitting good around here right now! The water temp. was only 56 on Sunday when I went out which is colder than normal for this time of year... I'm pretty sure they are all bedded up, but, I don't think they have released eggs yet. I fish for smallies primarily here in Idaho on the Snake River.
