The new Humminbird 596c HD DI is installed, haven't got it wet yet, looking at Thursday. We've had flood conditions on the Yakima River and the I-82 ponds are connected to the Yakima, so fishing hasn't been real good here. The Columbia is super full and all the dams are letting out lots of water. I'm hoping the shad come up soon and the water level goes down. Current is awful! Anybody else doing any good?

Hope someone logs in: I forgot to update this profile when I changed my email address, so no messages have come my way for a long time. Just decided I'd check it out again. Surprise! I've been fishing this spring at the I-82 ponds; #1, 4 and 6. Caught a number of 8-12 in trout on spinners. Been too cold and windy here for much. First nice day we've had in a while today. Got a new depth/fish finder ordered: Color, Hummingbird, dual range. Wish it would get here soon.

I just joined the group, and saw no one on here really cares about it enough to update or check in. So im gone... See ya.

It seems no one participates any more. If any of my old fishing friends is still out there, have a Happy Thanksgiving with family and friends. Then, someone please tell me a fishing story!

Fished the Umpqua last friday and boated eleven salmon. We caught six on tuesday. Blew the transmission in my truck tuesday night, haven't been on the water since. Tomorrow I'm heading back to the Umpqua. I'll remember my camera and try to get some pictures

I haven't been on the water for three weeks and I'm jonesin' hard. Somebody tell me a fishing story.

Saturday was pretty slow. We caught seven Coho. Had to release all but one. Sunday a new batch of fish moved into the Columbia and we caught four nice Chinook to 26# and six Coho to 13#. I fish once a year with this group of guys and we never fail to have a great time. Quality friends make for quality times. Thanks Guys! Posted some pics on my page, check them out.

Heading to Astoria tomorrow after work for a couple days chasing Chinook with my brother Larry, Mallard Boy, The Gambler, on Don Dye. It's gonna be a good time!

Just back from a week in Alaska. We had the time of our lives! Thanks to Mallard Boy for putting the trip together and even more thanks for inviting me to be a part of it. Aside from catching lots of fish I met some great new friends. I'm looking forward to our next adventure!. In the meantime I've posted some photos on my page.

Soldotna in the morning! I am excited. It's been several years since I last fished in Alaska. Should have a story and Pics in a week or so.

Wow, Jim sounds like you got something going. would love to join you someday, thanks for the invite, I'll return the favor if you get over this way. A 35# is a nice fish!
-
My buddy "Skinny" caught a 35# Chinook underneath the Hwy 101 bridge at Reedsport this morning. That's a big fish for this early in the run. Looks like the Umpqua is ready whenever I can get down there.

Hope only the Blazer was injured Rod. Vehicles can be replaced much easier than (human) body parts! Saturday after next I head to Soldotna Alaska to spend a week fishing for Coho and big Rainbows in the Kenai and some of it's tributaries. A week after I return I am fishing out of Astoria for a couple of days with Brentons Outdoor Adventures. Then all of September and October will be dedicated to the Siuslaw and Umpqua tidewaters looking for Salmon. The late Summer and fall are my favorite time of year!! Hope You get that hitch on your rig soon so you can haul your boat. If You ever find your way to my neck of the woods, give me a shout. There is always a seat in the boat for a friend. Tight Lines

Well in some respects you were better off than me. In the last month I've totaled my Blazer, went to No. Idaho to visit my daughter and family. Went fishing twice and caught 5 bluegill total. So it's really been up and down for me. Got to get a hitch on new car before I can take the boat anywhere.

Spent last weekend at Blue River Res with Connie, all three of my sons, my Mom , my brother and his family. No big fish but lots of pan size rainbows. Learned that three solid days of eating trout will cause a gout flareup. Even stuff that is good for you is bad for you. It's just not right!
