Well, it wasn't horrible, but I only caught one fish... about 15 min after arriving at Silver Lake, I caught about a 5lb cat... after that got picked off a bunch of times, ran out of bait and went home

I had a pretty good weekend... took my son out on Thursday (he's 2.5) and we caught a ton of bluegills and sunfish at Willow Creek (check out my hotspots)... Saturday went to Silver Lake (the one in Dickinson County) and caught a ton of strippers, and one descent perch trolling with raps. Sunday went back to Willow Creek with the wife, kid, and some friends of ours (been trying to get them more involved with fishing for awhile, and it's starting to work!!) caught a bunch of bluegills and sunfish again. I plan on heading out tonight to try my luck at Silver Lake again... supposed to be big storms, so with that and a full moon, it should be better than poor!!!

I live around the Des Moines area and am always looking for new places to try. I work nights so I realy like it when I find a place I can swing in to in the a.m. for an hour or two to unwind. I have my favorites but does anyone have any suggestions?
