We again went to CJ Strike Reservoir in June 2010 an also back in July 2010. The fishing this year was much slower then last year but still caught many Crappie, Channel Cat and huge bluegill and perch. On the average we caught close to 100 keeper size crappie a day. On August 25, 2010 a friend of mine contacted me and told me that the fishing was really picking up and they brought in 5 six gallon buckets of crappie, bluegill and perch in about 4 hrs of fishing. He said the bluegill and crappie were huge and the perch were also very large. Most of the best fishing is out of a boat but you can also catch fish from the shoreline just not as fast and furious as in a boat.

Just got back from CJ Strike Reservoir from vacation there for a week. The fishing was unbelievable. We caught Largemouth bass, Bluegill, Perch and around 2500 White Crappie over the 7 days June 10 through the 17, 2009. We took around 25 people fishing while there and they all went home with plenty of Crappie. We took several young kids and introduced them to fishing. They had a ball. Check out pictures.

Hi Anyone coming to Idaho in June or July and want to catch some fish send me a message. I generally go to CJ Strike here in Southern Idaho. CJ Strike is a huge reservoir covering many miles with high cliffs and lots and lots of different areas to fish. I have practically lived on this lake and know it very well. I have fished the bass circuit for several years and know many lakes here in Idaho. You can catch about everything Idaho has to offer in CJ Strike. I spent a week there in June and a week in July. This last summer the crappie fishing was un-believable. We were catching bigger then hand sized crappie and were averaging around 500 to 600 in 5 hrs time. We got to the point of only fishing for a couple of hrs and catching around 200 to 300. So when we get tired of catching one fish we fish for something else. They plant tagged trout in the lake and offer rewards I believe up to $250.00 for some tagged fish. We caught 4 tagged fish that were not money fish in about 3 hrs times. You couldn't keep the trout off of the line. You also catch perch, bass, camaloupe and some catfish when trolling here. We also caught many blue gill, trout, camaloupe, big perch smallmouth and largemouth bass, huge channel cat and bullhead catfish. We generally were calling anyone who wanted to go fishing with us. I sold my bass boat and bought a 22 foot Crestliner pontoon boat (and we love it) so we can haul around 12 people at a time. CJ Strike has camping facilities with full hook ups at Black Sands Resort. They also have a bar and restaurant there with boat launching facilities. There are a couple of other parks there with camping facilities. We generally stay out all day and it is very hot during June and July. We have shade on the boat but wear plenty of sun screen. We also set out some craw fish traps and eat craw fish about every night. The craw fish are huge in this reservoir. We are very easy to get along with and would love to have ya on the boat. Send a message and we will let you know when we are planning our vacation trip to CJ Strike Reservoir. Outdoorsman592003@yahoo.com
