Gender: Male Age: 31 Your Location: Orange Park, Florida About You: I am a father of 3 and happily married. Fishing to me is more than sport , its memories. My first memory is located on Ocean pond located in northeast Florida. We would get the boat ready on friday and wake up at 6 am , and be on the water at 7. Large mouth bass and brim were the norm. These brim ate very well though. 8 inches long and inch and a half thick is a nice little dinner piece. Tucked away amongst the cypress trees in the Oceola national forest. My second memory was Horseshoe beach Fl. This town has never had more than 170 people in its whole exsistance. This memory is located on the gulf coast of Florida in the big bend region. It was a timber town est. in 1860's. It has one general store one post office one restraunt and one marina. To get to this gem is on a 2 lane highway out of crosscity for about 35 miles. There no cops because there is never any trouble. We would stay at the marina in the cabins they offered for the weekend. Now this trip took a little planning. The week before my dad and I would go to garage sales and locate zebco 33's 433's and 808's for 2 to 5 dollars. Back then zebco offered a lifetime warrenty. We would return them and get them brand new. Buy a 6 to 7 foot rod for 5 to 10 bucks and you were set. My father is in a wheelchair and on a fixed income so you do what you have to do. Thats why the pontoon boat was a good wheel chair fisher Favorite Activities: My wife and kids are my favorite hobby. classic and hot rod cars. Guns, rebuilding guns, wood working and love doing yard work Favorite Species of Fish: Well thats hard to say. Freshwater fishing in florida is not my favorite, but its good. My problem is lack of species. Large mouth bass brim and catfish are the norm. Saltwater now thats where its at. I have a huge lake called Doctors lake that 2 miles away and its fed by the ST.Johns river which is fed by the atlantic ocean and intercostal waterway. 30 to 60 miles from my house is 3 piers. jacksonville beach pier, st.augustine beach pier, and flagler beach pier. There is trout speckeled and yellow mouth, amber jack, sheepshead, whiting, croaker, blues, red bass, pompano just to name a few Favorite Tackle: I love a good spin caster withe 6 1/2 to 7 foot medium rod. red cajun line or the green about 12 to 14 lb test line. Steel leader with 1oz prymid weight with a 2 ought hook. I ve made a couple of awesome sheapshead rigs consisting of a 18 inch steel leader and put another leader comming of the side about six inches down and one six inches from that. Atach a 3 ounce pyrmid at the bottom. Another favorite is the shark buster. 18 inch leader with a y at the bottom for 2 treble hooks to atach a whole squid or live bait twice. I use a surf rod with 25lb test on the pier and attach a 1 1/2 inch pvc to the rail and put the butt of the rod and use it as a holder.Set the drag and you are good. I also use with the same surf rod a 4 in diameter orange float 36 inches from the hook right where the breakers are Number of Anglers Invited: 0

North carolina is gorgous, but where are the fish. We went fishing yesterday at highpoint lake nc and it was horrible. Not sure what went wrong . We were on the lake at 7 am and had some nice looking shiners. We tried live bait, top water lures ,deep running lures 4 to 5 foot running lures . Live worms on top and bottom. And I even trolled the same shiner almost all the way around this lake.Highpoint marina was awesome .Th e guy working was very friendly and helpful. We got a 12 foot boat for 13 dollars all day long. You had to paddle it but it was a nice carolina skiff. The second part was creastwood bait and tackle. It si an old little store about 2 miles west. The guy was 60n plus but had a very cozy bait shop. he had rebuilt 30 to 40 rods and reels. He had old zebcos to old penns. These were gorgous rebuilt rods.It looked like the had been preserved. He had all the lures and any tackle you need. The best thing was the shiners. They lasted from 7am to 5 pm not one died.WOOOW. Everyone knows with shiners they dont last. 90 percent of the time 2 to 3 per dozen are dead before you get to the boat ramp. We got 2 dozen and threw back 16 in the lake at 5 pm. If anyone wants to stimulate the locale economy then go to creastwood bait and tackle. This guy will remember you in a year, so give wal mart and the bass proshop a break. I like the handshake after getting awesome service and my bait
