Trout Crazy...It depends on where you're fishing --- Priest Lake for instance has dynamite lake trout fishing. Jigs fished near the bottom are a preferred method of fishing there and can be very effective. Smaller lakes with rainbows and cutthroat are best fished with size 4 Panther Martin spinners in gold (gold blade, black body) or black Roostertail spinners. Stream fishing, depending on the regulations, can best be fished with bait or flies. In every case, I'd find the local tackle shop and ask their advice. Also, most anglers don't know that the area's fish biologist can be a tremendous information resource as well. Call your fish and wildlife department to find out who that person is and contact them directly for tips on best area fisheries. One thing's for sure, if you live in Idaho you have a tremendous amount of trout fishing opportunity available to you. Good luck!
