Location: FreeportPA Profile Manager: ryan shimpeno Coordinates: 40.6697, -79.6931 Water type (lake, river, bay, etc.): Stream Salinity Type (fresh, salt, or brackish): Fresh Public/Private: Public Description: buffalo creek or "crick" as we call it here in w. pa., is a long winding rocky creek. the upper reaches are stocked with trout and have fly projects and delayed harvest as well as open trout season. depth is generally shallow riffles and runs but does have some beautiful holes that holds a variety of fish. the lower portion where it dumps into the allegheny river is a slower moving deeper pool where u will find nice chunk rock banks that were installed by the fish commission as a way to regulate erosion. now it holds a bunch of species of fish especially in early spring when all they move up searching for warmer water.
