Who got me involved in fishing:
My dad and his buddies.
Favorite Fishing Story:
Perch fishing in Minnesota on vacation with my family as a kid. My older brother and I were out in a little john boat with an old 9.9 Johnson (I mean ancient). I was reeling in a little perch when the thing gets slammed by what I have to assume was a pike. I fought with the thing for maybe 10 minutes before it snapped the line. I will never forget how excited I was about the prospect of fish being that big and strong. I remember we walked into the bait store the next day, two 12 and 15 year old kids respectively, asking "how do we catch pike?". I have loved fishing since I started at 8 years old pulling sunfish up from under the dock and I've been hooked ever since that pike stole my perch!
Best Fishing Joke:
An old man and a young man are out fishing on the old man's boat. The young man asks the old man what was his secret to being happy. The old man sits there for a few minutes and says to the young man, spend as much time with your wife as you possible can. Take her everywhere with you, always take care of her and she will take great care of you. She will bring you more in life than you ever thought possible. The young man thinks about what he said as they continued to fish. At the end of the day they were loading the boat onto the trailer and the young man asked the old man, "I forgot to ask, what if your wife hated fishing?" The old man looks at the young man and says "then I probably would have name my boat something else".
I have never fought a water logged boot for so long.
