DUANE SOUSA - BIG BOY SPORT FISHING CHARTERS is proud to be a part of the Anglers’ Legacy.
Who got me involved in fishing:
I started fishing over 35 years ago in Newport, Rhode Island with my father. We fished for 50 and 60 pound striped bass off the "Forty Steps" in Newport. My first boat was a 1956 Chris Craft. I lived and fished off this vessel for 8 years, and then sold it when I started my family. I fished Rhode Island Sound with friends and family while my family was young, and as they got older, bought a 1980 Well Craft Offshore and started my own charter business - fishing Block Island and Offshofre for Tuna and Shark. The waters have been good to me - several vessels later, and a business that now includes Rhode Island, Southwest Florida and the Gulf of Mexico, I get to do what I love, and pass the joy of fishing on to my customers every day.

The Big Boy II is just about ready to go fishing. My son and First Mate Jason Sousa will be firing up the engines this weekend, and doing a little maintenance on the boat to get ready for some Cod Fishing. We are hearing very good reports about Cod fishing on the back side of Block Island, and we will be poking around in a week or so to do a little investigating of our own. We are ready for Striper and Blue fishing which should get going in May/June, along with Fluke. Tautog opens up April 15...We are taking reservations, so please feel free to call us for any other information, or so that we may customize a charter for you. It was a long winter, and Spring is here, so.....LET'S GO FISHING!!!
