Location: FL, Profile Manager: ajbrooks81 Created: March 18th, 2009 Description: Fort clinch is a beautiful state park with a cornucopia of activities for the whole family. There is hiking, camping and the typical bicycle trails. But we are on fishington so lets talk about the fishing. There is a nice pier that I would guess goes probably 800 to 1000 feet. There are jettie rocks on the right hand side which make for some great sheepshead and red bass fishing. Last time I was there I caught a few undersized speckeled trout and my son "the crab man" landed 3 rock crabs. Last but not least the beautiful fort clinch its self. Lats month in the Florida Sportsmans mag There was a little article about fort clinch raving about the size and plentifulness of flounder. So if you get a chance to visit this statepark it is worth the trip. Minimal price of 2 dollars to go inside, is well worth it. Nassua county in northeast Florida will throw you back in time. With early 1800's bed and breakfast to the charm of the old original light house its a sure crowd pleaser. Make sure to stop by the little bait and suvineer shop on the corner of a1a and the ocean. They have ship wreck relics that date back to the 1600's. There is a 100lb silver bar from the famous atocha and a canon from one of the pirate ships that visited amelia island Coordinates: 30.6976, -81.4306 Community Rating: Community Rating:
