Who got me involved in fishing:
It was my Grandparents. At a young age, my grandparents would take me fishing in the back bays of the New Jersey shore. Fishing, crabbing, good times, great memories.
Favorite Fishing Story:
I was teaching my young son how to fish using plastic worms. Worm fishing requires patience and focus, two important skills. To a young angler worm fishing can become boring. My son insisted on throwing his worm and working it as though it was a crankbait. I made numerous attempts to correct his action, but to no avail. Finally he birdnest, no less but on an open face reel. Go figure.
With the senko in the water, my son pass the rod/reel for me to unravel. While unraveling the birdnest, I felt, tap tap. I then notice the line was moving away from our boat. I couldn't believe it. Quickly I hand back the unraveled mess to my son, and began pulling the line in by hand. Within minutes I had landed the Largemouth.
Todays lesson was patiences, patiences, patiences. When you think your fishing slow, you need to slow down and fish slower. A lesson well learned. Amazing what we learn from our mistakes.
