Age: 70 Your Location: I live in Hudson and Harlem Valley region of New York State,Approximatly 60 miles from Manhattan NY. There are a lot of New York City Reserviors all around where I live with excellent fishing for trout,bass,panfish,perch,walleye and in the Hudson River (Srtiped Bass) Within 50 miles there is fishing in Long Island Sound. About You: Not much to say except I have been fishing all my life, Salt water and Fresh water. I own a 12 ft. jon boat which I keep at a local Lake. I don,t use it as much as I use to because in theese reserviors & lakes there are no motors allowed! (NY City reservior regulations) Now I mostly go Salt water fishing when I can.I like to go on head boats for salt water fishing. Favorite Activities: Fishing and I want to buy a Salt water fishing boat which can also go offshore! Problem is the asking prices for even used boats are ridiculously high. I thought that since gas prices are so high that people would be selling their boats at a more reasonable price. So I will keep looking and searching for a good boat at a reasonable cost! Favorite Species of Fish: Blackfish,flounder,fluke,blue fish,stripers,porgies,and if I get a chance I want to go for Grouper in North Carolina. I also want to go for some othe salt water species! I also like Fresh water fishing but not so much in recent years. Although I use to spend a lot of time fishing for trout,black bass,and some panfish like perch,and bluegills ect. a little for walleye. Would like to go for Lake trout and Salmon, (some day) Favorite Tackle: Baitcasting and Conventional , Sometimes spinning gear. Depends on type of fish and water ect. Number of Anglers Invited: 0

Wow, sounds like you had some good times at your aunt's house! And I bet the whole Chesapeake area looked totally different than it does now! As kids, we mostly went fishing in ponds and at the creek to catch sunnies, catfish--and if we were lucky--a bass! We were real poor, so we didn't have the best rods, but back then, it didn't matter. In fact, sometimes we made our own rods out of branches and fishing line! We'd get up real early and dig for worms right or grab a can or corn for bait before we headed out. Just being out with the family and near the water was the best part!

Maria, Apparently your hubby doesn't fish. That's sad. Yes he should set you up for fishing the salt water. My wife doesn't fish anymore (she gets sea sick) I have 4 grown kids only one still lives at home (forever I guess) I would like to fish around the eastern neck and the bay bridge in Chesapeake Bay area. I did once, we went out for croakers! A funny fish indeed. I spend quite a bit on fishing gear. I guess I am addicted. My son in law and my oldest daughter use to live in the Chesapeake area, but now lives in Bethlehem PA. They have a boy and girl of their own. That makes me Granpa. How sweet it is!

Hi Michael... I used to go fishing all the time when I was a kid, but not so much as an adult. Told my husband that I want a rod for Xmas so I can get back out there. I really miss being in the outdoors and want to get my kids into it because it's such a great sport and will bring them memories to last a lifetime!
