My Anglers’ Legacy

Mickie Repecka is proud to be a part of the Anglers’ Legacy.

Who got me involved in fishing:
My Dad took me fishing. I have fished all over the US including AK and even Germany.

Favorite Fishing Story:
When I was in 3rd grade, we were fishing the KENAI RIVER in Alaska for salmon. I was using my Zebco reel with like a 10lb test. My sister and I were on the spit tossing salmon eggs into the class IV rapids. My Mom & Dad were in a cabin about 150 yds away having beer and a chat with our cabin neighbors. I caught a MONSTER. It manhandled me. I was screaming at the top of my lungs for my Dad to help but he didn't hear me. My sister kept telling me I was snagged but I knew better. She finally started to walk to get my Dad when the Monster leapt out of the river about 3 ft into the air. My sister screamed and started RUNNING to my Dad.
Shortly after...pop. He was off. I was never the same after that.

*at least I had a witness :)
