Who got me involved in fishing:
Always fished my Grandfather my whole life growing up. Once I moved off from home it became a every great once in awhile thing. My stepson has always hounded me about taking him fishing. Finally as a test, we allowed him to buy and refurbish a 10' jon boat. after 5 months we had the boat ready to go. After several river fishing trips on the St. Marys, we finally ventured out toward Cumberland sound. Our first trip out we hooked 4 sharks with Mac landing 2 Bonnets 3' foot long. From that day, I knew why my grandfather always enjoyed taking me fishing. It wasn't for him,it was for the joy it gave him to pass down a part of his youth, and the enjoyment of watching me light up with every catch. Since that time I have gotten my wife to reluctantly go out with Mac, and it ends up being an all day trip when they hit the water. Since then my son has traded his 10' jon for a 17' center console that he is refurbishing.Favorite Fishing Story:
When my stepson got his first boat, 10'. I told him it was a bit small. The argument lasted all day til I finally gave in. He refurbished the boat, and the fishing began. Everything was fine til our first trip to Cumberland Sound. That day we got on the sharks. After he landed his first 3' bonnet, he looked at me and said "See, this boat is fine". About 20 minutes later he hooked a 4 to 5' black tip. When he got the shark up to the side of the boat and seen the size of the shark. He looked at me and said "I think we need a bigger boat". 1 Month later he traded his 10' jon for a 17' center console that he's refurbishing to have ready for the spring.

Watched the Easter Morning sunrise on the North River dock with the kids. Fishing nothing to brag about, but my youngest caught his first shark.

After 9 months of refurbishing my son's 16ft boat, we have given up on the motor and sent it for a rebuild to Classic Mercury Outboard. Darrel has been great trying to help us fix it ourselves, so after we failed to get it running... we sent it to the expert. Check him out at classicmercuryoutboards.com
