Who got me involved in fishing:
A good friend (noted in the favorite fishing story) from high school got me "involved" in fishing. I had been introduced to it by my Dad and Grandfather, but never became serious about it until I was invited to take a trip to Canada with a friend from school. Something about fishing there for that week impacted me in a way that made fishing part of my life.
Favorite Fishing Story:
I caught a 27lb. King Salmon awhile back from Lake Michigan and when I got it next to the boat, my friend's net broke. I made a couple of sarcastic remarks about him and his fishing gear, when he remarked, "you have no idea who you're fishing with do you?" I looked at him and said, "what could you possibly mean? He shot back, "just get the fish back to the boat, will you?" When I got it back to the boat, he clubbed it with a small baseball bat, grabbed it by the gill, and tossed it on the bottom of the 14-foot aluminum boat. He asked me if I had any other comments to make. We're still friends. I won the big fish contest for the King Salmon category with that fish.
