Gender: Male Age: 37 Your Location: I am blessed to live in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. I grew up in Renton, WA and moved here in the spring of 2000. About You: I grew up a worm drowner, fishing for trout and perch using nothing more than a hook and a bobber. Our grandfather used to take a trolling for kokannee out of Mason Lake. He would take my twin brother and I in his 12' aluminum boat that had an old Sears 3 1/2 hp motor on it. We would rig up our poles with pop gear, a snubber and wedding ring tipped with a maggot. No down riggers or fish finders for us. We would count out the depth from our reel to the first eyelet, 2 feet, letting out 90 feet of line. It wasn't often that we caught many fish, but when we did, it was hard to hide our excitement and pride.
My grandparents sold their cabin in 1995 and I didn't pick up a rod for quite some time after that. Too many memories of fishing out their with my grandpa I guess. When I moved to Coeur d'Alene and met my wife I re-discovered my love of fishing. One small plastic frog cast towards the shore on Hayden Lake that quickly met it's match in a largemouth bass and I was hooked!
Now I have a 14ft aluminum boat that reminds me of my grandpa's boat. It has a 1958 Johnson 10 hp Seahorse. I have a minnkota trolling motor on the back a fishing buddy fish finder that works sometimes.
I enjoy taking my girls out fishing and watching their excitement when they hook up with a bluegill or small perch. I hope I give them the same love of fishing my grandpa gave me.Favorite Activities: Spending time with my family, fishing with friends and tinkering with my fishing blog Favorite Species of Fish: Anything I can coax into biting my bait....preferably largemouth bass, small mouth bass and northern pike Favorite Tackle: 12 lb berkley trilene line, 4/0 gamakatsu EWG hook and Gary Yamamoto pumpkin senko worm or creature bait Number of Anglers Invited: 5
