The GREAT Northwest Fisher is proud to be a part of the Anglers’ Legacy.
Who got me involved in fishing:
Dave and Shelly. They are my parents and I was started out very young. I was less than 1 year old when they entered me into the 5 Mile Lake Tournaments every year.
Favorite Fishing Story:
In the winter of 2005, My friend Gabe and I were out on the Puget Sound off Johnson Point. We were sitting in 800 foot deep waters and all of the sudden the depth/fish finder started to go nuts. we looked and it appeared to be a huge school of fish coming right for us. We were so excited as this is what we had been waiting for all day. I told Gabe "man this is great. All day we been out here searching for the right spot and we finally found it." Just as Gabe turned his head to reply the Depth finder started to make a different sound. The good old sound of ~ Hey Dummies, you're getting too close to land. LOL! What the H#$L! We thought, wow! we are getting closer to the ground and we are not even moving. so, we both looked over the side of the boat and could see kind of a sparkling about 6-8 feet down. as it got closer we heard a whoooooosh come up the other side of the boat. We both turned around scared as H^%L and there we seen a dorsal fin, long and black. "Holy S*&^T!" Gabe said. We then turned back around and looked over the boat again, and there, for the first time in our lives we were staring 3 feet away into the eye of an Orca Whale. So scared I almost S&^T myself. LOL! As I was wearing steel toe boots and no life vest. (Very Stupid of me!) We waited a couple minutes for it to leave then we high tailed it back to the marina and went home.
