Never had much luck on Strawberry Lake. Depending on the water level you may not be able to get a pontoon under either of the bridges, but there is plenty of fishing and fun on portage alone, it is the biggest lake on that chain of lakes. I spend majority of the summer on those lakes. Best of luck.
Big Portage Lake is a great lake for perch and blue gill. There is not a lot of area available to shore fish so i recommend bringing a boat or contacting Klave's Marina (734) 426-4532 they rent boat and are located right on Portage lake. All the lakes connected to Portage have good fishing, but i would say stick to Portage/ little portage for go up the chain to Gallagher lake. There are a lot of deep holes in all the lakes so you may find some nice Pike too.
I am interested in finding a lake near Howell, MI to catch yellow perch while attending a family get together. Anyone know of a place and would I need a boat or could you fish from shore? If boat is needed are their rentals there? Thanks
