The love of active sports and being in the great outdoors is bred in Tim Grave’s bones – even after those bones have let him down. A paraplegic after a car accident caused a spinal injury six years ago, Graves, 27, nonetheless enjoys fishing and hunting from his wheelchair.

Children today often spend more time inside than outside, and think life without a video game is not possible. In fact, the only fishing experience some children have is playing Fly Fishing on their Wii consoles. So, how can you get your children to venture out into the great outdoors, put down the game controller, and pick up a real fishing pole? Making the experience fun and interesting will get your children to actually choose the outdoors over other activities, and will teach them skills that will last a lifetime.

This is certainly a special year for the Boy Scouts of America – as they celebrate their 100th anniversary at the 2010 National Scout Jamboree. The event has been around since 1937, but this year scouts from all 50 states and 26 nations will gather to experience the centennial celebration. The Take Me Fishing campaign wanted to get involved and make it easier for Scouts to participate in boating and fishing.
