Why This Matters

Between 2001 and 2006 the U.S. lost four million sportsmen.

Fewer boaters and anglers means:

• Diminished funds for state conservation efforts
• Health of our waterways in jeopardy
• Less mentors to protect the legacy of the sport and pass it down to new generations

With tremendous competition for leisure time such as video games, cell phones, and parents working longer hours, a serious commitment to grow the sport of boating and fishing is necessary.

Thanks to our supporters, Take Me Fishing is making a difference for the next generation of boaters and anglers:

  • For the Environment: Since 2007, the campaign has generated more than $19 million for state conservation efforts, which include keeping fisheries stocked, better access to docks and piers, projects to keep our waterways clean, and safety programs.
  • For Youth and Newcomers: Since 2007, the campaign has introduced more than 1 million kids and newcomers to boating and fishing, helping them stay healthy and active.
  • For Education and Outreach: We’ve developed a great resource in TakeMeFishing.org to make it easy to buy your fishing license, register your boat, learn expert tips and techniques and find boating and fishing hotspots in all 50 states.

Annual Giving

Annual giving impacts the thousands of individuals who are touched by boating and fishing, personally and professionally. For us, these funds make possible the continued effort of the Take Me Fishing campaign to ensure the legacies of boating, fishing and conservation are never lost. As a token of our appreciation, for a donation of $10 or more you will receive a FREE commemorative Anglers’ Legacy pin. (while supplies last)

Consider a tax-deductible donation to the Take Me Fishing campaign before December 31.
