      Boating Safety courses are offered every week and weekend throughout the season throughout New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. Instructors are licensed USCG Master Captains and deliver the best boater safety and cetification programs. Our 1-Day and 2-Evening courses are for adults and children 10yrs of age and older.       This class is comprised of 3 days of on-the-water and classroom instruction provided by CYC members who have successfully completed the US Sailing Basic Keelboat Instructor Certification Course.

      Course Location: Thai Rock - Restaurant 375 Beach 92nd Street Rockaway Beach, NY 11693 May 12, 2012 Runs One Day, 9AM - 5:00PM To Register go to: http://a0141201.uscgaux.info/nysbc.html This course meets the NYS and US Coast Guard requirements for PWC Operation, Adult and Youth Boating Certification. Upon successful completion, you will have met the requirements and can operate a PWC/Jetski or as a youth boater operate a vessel without Adult Supervision . You will receive a certificate upon successful completion of this course- certificate received same day as class. The certificate you earn for completing this class allows ANYONE over the age of 14 to operate a PWC/Jet Ski in NY waters. It also allows anyone between 10 and 18 to operate a boat in NY without being accompanied by an adult; it also allows anyone over 10 to operate a boat in NJ waters (required for ALL boaters regardless of age). The course is designed as a comprehensive boating course, teaching the fundamentals of safe boating operation. Taught by State Certified Instructors with materials approved by the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators.     • USCG Auxiliary Safe Boating Course

      The USCG Auxiliary of Islip, NY. will be teaching "ABOUT BOATING SAFELY" This 8 hour course is given over 3 nights. It is presented and instructed by the volunteers of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, Our instructors are qualified by the USCG Aux. and represent thousands of hours of on water experience. Current classes in the Islip, South Shore Area are; in March (3,13,20), April(4,17&5/1) and a one full day session May 12. Course cirriculum includes, Choosing the right boat, boating laws, safety equipment, navigation rules of the road, bouys and markers, safe boat handling (docking and manuvering) Jet Skis (PWC's) regulations and safe operation. fishing, water skiing, Float plans, VHF radio communication... It is required in the state of New York for anyone operating a PWC (jet ski) to have completed a approved Boating Safety Class. As well anyone from 10 yrs to 18 yrs of age may operate a boat with adult supervision only if they have completed a safe boating course. If you have never taken a safe boating class or if it has been 10 years since you last did, treat yourself to 8 hours that could well save your and your loved ones lives. Make your time on the water safe and enjoyable. Answer: Your vessel is the "STAND ON" vessel, you should sound a warning and maintain your course and speed.

      The longest-running, most comprehensive, fly fishing school in the United States. Run by all-volunteer staff of certified and master instructors, the Michigan Council of Trout Unlimited Fly-fishing School takes place over 3 days near Traverse City, Michigan, and includes casting, landing fish, knots, bugs, fly-tying, reading the water, etiquette and more.
