Middle Bass Island
Under-used and insufficient, Lake Erie’s Middle Bass Island provides year around safe harbor for boaters who get caught in inclement weather. A sweeping facility upgrade resulted in 252 boat slips of which 140 are available for transient boaters, a new restroom and shower facility and convenient access to dockside utilities like electricity and water.

Mac-O-Chee Creek
Restoring the meander to channelized Mac-O-Chee Creek was essential to the Ohio Division of Wildlife’s objective to improve stream habitat for fish and wildlife. Open to fishing, a 1,500 foot section of the creek has been restored, which will enable the stream to support greater populations of fish such as brown trout and the endangered tongue-tied minnow.
