    The Florida Fishing Academy (FFA) is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization formed in 2006 for the purpose of empowering at-risk youth with positive life skills, alternatives to destructive or antisocial behavior and a sense of responsibility for shaping the world around them. FFA uses fishing as a vehicle for delivering these lessons, weaving effective life, environmental and social skills into a youth-oriented, handson sports angling curriculum.

  • Kids Lets Go Fishing!

    The Reward Fishing Fleet based in Miami Florida offers groups of kids the opportunity to learn how to fish through instruction in habitat awareness,resource stewardship, and ethical angling techniques. We can take groups as large as 50 kids and 20 supporting adults. We use light tackle,and small barbless circle hooks for safety and ease of releasing the fish. We promote the state's rules and regulations, and catch and release only.Our services have been used by Dade County Public Schools for the past two years as a unique and fun field trip.

  • Nature Coast Fishing for Youth

    The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is starting up the Kid’s Fishing Clinics in Cedar Key for ages 6-15 beginning June 24th and the 25th, and will follow every Tuesday and Thursday through July. The clinics begin at 9 a.m. and close at 2 p.m. and are located at the Senator George Kirkpatrick Marine Lab. All participants will learn, but not limited to, fishing basics, the importance of clean habitats and habitat identification, proper catch and release techniques, fish identification, and of course, spend some time fishing! Children between the ages of 6-8 will be required a chaperone to attend the entire program. Students and chaperones should bring their own lunch, and are encouraged to bring their own sunscreen, hat, and personal fishing gear, although fishing gear for the program will be provided. Upon completion of the class, students will receive a rod, reel, and tackle box complete with tackle, thanks to donations from Fish Florida.     An organization of men who teach young boys how to fish. I would imagine it is for boys without fathers or single moms with dead beat dads.

  • Taking Advantage of Wrecks and Reefs

    Topics will include best baits, live bait rigging, deep dropping, and buying the right tackle, among others.

  • Understanding Sailfish

    Topics include kite fishing, success with circle hooks, reading the water, and catching multiples, among others.

  • Youth Fishing Classes

    Classes are scheduled when tides and moon are favorable for fishing. These classes are offered jointly with the Town of Jupiter.

    The longest-running, most comprehensive, fly fishing school in the United States. Run by all-volunteer staff of certified and master instructors, the Michigan Council of Trout Unlimited Fly-fishing School takes place over 3 days near Traverse City, Michigan, and includes casting, landing fish, knots, bugs, fly-tying, reading the water, etiquette and more. All levels covered (beginner, intermediate, advanced). Age 12 and up.
