Why Fishing is Fun
I remember very well the weekend in April when I went fishing in Fort Lauderdale, FL with a group of women who were relatively new to the sport. We were all participating in the seminar weekend “Ladies, Let’s Go Fishing”. We got up at 7am and our boat left the dock at 8am.
I was super excited that we were going to be fishing all morning! It was a sunny day with no clouds in the sky and the wind was just perfect for going fishing offshore.
It was amazing to go with a group of women who love fishing. All of them shared stories of their first time fishing, and we all took pictures of the first fish we caught. If you think fishing is an activity for men only, I have to say it is not true. Many women of all ages go fishing in many parts of the U.S. In fact, women make up 34% of all U.S. anglers.
I would repeat this adventure many times, and even go on a trip with my family or with a group of friends. Below are some of the reasons why I think fishing is fun:
A relaxing activity: Fishing is the perfect excuse to get out of the routine. It’s relaxing and many studies show that it is beneficial to your health. My biggest concern about going fishing was… How would I prepare my fish for dinner? Luckily, I found these great tips on how prepare your fish.
Connect with nature: Who wouldn’t love to have a fun time on the water on a sunny day with friends and family? If you’re like me, fishing will become your favorite weekend activity.
Being around family: Are you looking for activities you can enjoy with your family? Fishing is something that anyone at any age can practice. It does not require an expert, and sophisticated fishing equipment is not needed for a fun family day on the water. Many states do not require a fishing license for those 16 and under.
That is an advantage for many families with children. For more information, check how to get a fishing license.
A simple activity: To go fishing you just need a fishing rod, reel and bait. If this is your first time going fishing, go to a fishing or outdoors shop and ask the sales person to give you some help; they will guide you and help you choose the right equipment you will need to start fishing. A friends activity: Are you looking for a fun activity to do with your friends? Well, recreational fishing may be a great option for spending time with your friends, celebrating your birthday,
