Go Fishing with your Family this Hispanic Heritage Month

Hispanics are joining the fishing and boating community in record numbers – more than 4 million Hispanics went fishing last year! Let’s learn more about them. In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, we are inviting you to join a meal en familia by cooking the fish you caught! That’s right. Fishing is a tradition in the U.S since many generations ago. Besides the fact that you can actually fish for food, fishing is an activity that brings people together. Whether on the water catching or at home preparing your catch.

We all know that life on the water has been part of Hispanic cultures for generations, and in fact, a new study highlights fishing’s impact on the habits of cooking at home. According to the study, Hispanic anglers are more likely than their non-fishing peers to share a meal with extended family (73% vs. 54%) , cook meals at home (83% vs. 74%) and try new recipes (71% vs. 60%). ¡Así es la pesca y el pescado a unir familias!

This sense of adventure doesn’t end in the kitchen, either. Hispanics who fish are more likely to seek a novel or new experience every week (62% vs. 45%) and plan for a future trip on a weekly basis (73% vs. 54%).

What’s behind fishing’s impact both in and out of the kitchen? ¿Cuál es tu opinión? ¿Ya he tentado pescar en familia? You can find all you need to learn how to fish during Hispanic Heritage Month right here, and then haz clic y aprende como cocinar tu pescado.

¡Feliz Mes de La Herencia Hispana! Happy Hispanic Heritage Month!
