RBFF Hosts Press Trip at Walt Disney World Resort Highlighting Fishing, Boating and Family Fun

RBFF Hosts Press Trip at Disney Highlighting Fishing Boating and Family Fun

RBFF recently hosted several members of the local and national media at Walt Disney World ® Resort, immersing them in fishing, boating and family fun activities. The press trip served as a well-rounded introduction to life on the water, and showcased RBFF’s relationship with the Walt Disney World® Resort to help the media generate story ideas for fishing and boating coverage.

This experiential trip was the first fishing and/or boating experience for many of the writers who hailed from both English and Spanish-language media outlets. In addition to getting a hands-on introduction, media also learned about the benefits of fishing and boating. All attendees were able to try their hand at cane pole fishing, bass fishing and boating on small, single-person speedboats on Resort property.

“It was great to have some one-on-one time with such an influential group of people to share the joys of fishing and boating, the great importance fishing and boating has on the economy and its critical connection to conservation,” said RBFF President & CEO Frank Peterson. “We hope the coverage generated from this trip will help us extend the Take Me Fishing™ and Vamos A Pescar™ campaign message, ultimately drawing more anglers and boaters to the water.”

Media attendees were highly active on social media during the trip with many also getting involved in the #FirstCatch campaign. Stories have been already published by Orlando El Sentinel (also in their print publication) and Ser Padres. Keep an eye on the Take Me Fishing Newsroom for coverage slated to run later this year and into 2016. Media attendees were highly active on social media, posting engaging content from the trip to drive engagement via Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

2015 State Marketing Workshop Collaborate Relate and Innovate to Redefine the Customer Experience

RBFF is putting the final touches on what is shaping up to be its most impressive State Marketing Workshop yet. State agency partners have been invited to Dallas, Texas December 8 – 10, 2015 to discuss innovative ideas, share program successes and hear from RBFF and industry leaders on how to redefine the customer experience to grow fishing and boating participation. This year, we are excited to announce that Jay Baer, founder and president of Convince & Convert, will kick off the Workshop as our keynote speaker to share with us about Youtility: Why Smart Marketing is About Help not Hype.

Jay is a renowned business strategist and the New York Times best-selling author of five books who travels the world helping business people gain and keep more customers. Jay has advised more than 700 companies since 1994, including Caterpillar, Nike, Allstate, The United Nations and 32 of the FORTUNE 500. Just like with all of these companies, Jay will challenge us to fundamentally rethink our approach to marketing and customer service to help us better recruit, retain, and reactivate customers.

In addition to this exciting keynote, attendees will hear from Georgia Wildlife Resources Division on our Retention Pilot Program and Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission on our new partnership project, designed to improve the online customer experience and increase license sales. RBFF’s State Innovative R3 Program Grants recipients in Georgia, Nebraska and Vermont will share details on their agency programs and how similar efforts can be implemented in other states. Attendees will hear from GovDelivery on digital marketing expertise and strategies for effective customer engagement. The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources and RBFF’s Hispanic marketing agency Lopez Negrete Communications will also present ways to engage the growing Hispanic audience.
