Abilene Outdoor Adventures

The last four years, City of Abilene, Texas Parks & Wildlife Department (TPWD), and other organizations throughout the Big Country have hosted Abilene Outdoor Adventures to provide educational and fun activities to promote ways families can get involved in outdoor organizations, outdoor recreation, conservation/preservation of natural resources, and to encourage wellness. Activities will include wildlife identification, plant identification, Red Cross’ natural disaster preparation, catfish fishing derby and fishing education activities with TPWD Inland Fisheries and Angler Education Program, TPWD State Parks kayaking demos, TPWD archery education, camping simulations, RC car and plane displays, litter cleanup and water conservation education with Keep Abilene Beautiful, and other festivities at Abilene Zoo.
