Initiated in early 2014 with a donation from Bass Pro Shops Founder and CEO Johnny Morris, the George H.W. Bush Vamos A PescarTM Education Fund is a grant program to fund state and local initiatives that focus on engaging Hispanic families in fishing, boating and conservation activities.
Out of 54 million total anglers, only 5 million are Hispanic. Engaging this audience will be critical to the future of fishing and boating as 1 in 4 Americans are expected to be Latino by 2060.
The Education Fund will support the Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation’s (RBFF) current Hispanic outreach initiative, Vamos A PescarTM by funding hands-on educational opportunities so future generations can experience the joys of fishing and learn the importance of conservation.
