Skip the ties and mugs, and focus on these 4 awesome father’s day celebration ideas most any dad will truly love and appreciate this year.

Gone are the days of giving ties and mugs as father’s day gifts. Most dads don’t need (or want) any more of either! There are, however, many creative father’s day celebration ideas. As you think about how to celebrate father's day this year, consider these four gifts and things to do outdoors that will let dad know that they are loved.

Homemade Breakfast in Bed

One of the sweetest things to do for father's day is to cook for dad. Oatmeal is a great breakfast in bed idea because it is easy to make, delicious, and warms the heart and soul. To prepare the best from-scratch oatmeal, simply:

  1. Bring 1 cup of water to boil
  2. Stir in 1/2 cup of old fashioned oats, set timer for 5 minutes
  3. Immediately sprinkle in 1 tbsp of ground cinnamon, stir
  4. At the 2 minute mark, stir in chopped walnuts, 2 tbsp of light brown sugar, 1 tbsp of maple syrup
  5. At the 1 minute mark, stir in 1 tbsp of milk
  6. When the buzzer sounds, pour the oatmeal into a bowl, slice banana on top and dust with more cinnamon.
  7. Serve to dad in bed!

Fishing with Dad

One of the great father’s day celebration ideas is to give dad a day of fishing. The iconic imagery and memorable expe-riences of a father and son fishing together or a father daughter fishing outing is one of the best gifts you could give. Pack snacks, drinks, and bug spray, buy dad a few new lures or live bait, and clear the calendar for a morning of fishing with kids!

Take Dad Out To The Ballgame

After more a year of not being allowed to attend live events, sports are back with roaring crowds! Dad may be itching to cheer on his team, so if you are wondering how to celebrate father's day this year, it’s easy: get dad tickets to see his favorite soccer club or baseball team live and in person for the first time in a long time.

Rock Out(doors)

Because almost every band is eagerly rebooking tours, there are probably more than a few outdoor concerts worth see-ing this summer. If you want things to do outside to celebrate dad this year, buy concert tickets and rock out together!

Here are 6 Father’s Day fishing gifts dad can always use for a father and son fishing trip.
