Valentine’s Day is rapidly approaching and the candy and flowers stores are hopping. Dinner and a movie also are traditional date choices. But, what if you are looking to spice things up a bit? 2/3* of all relationships enjoy the “non-traditional” dating of fishing or boating because it is “relaxing, playful, exciting, and romantic.”
That’s right, romantic.
What do fishing and boating have in common? Water. Think of all of those gift card covers and relationship movies with couples walking along the beach, waves crashing into shoreline rocks, and the reflection of the sunset over water. Every boat is a convertible. And while you are sharing a sunset cruise, why not troll for a striped bass?
About 88 million people boated in 2012, and 33 million went fishing either on a boat or from shore. However, the U.S. population is over 320 million so these figures also show that there are many people who maybe just haven’t tried boating and/or fishing together yet and might enjoy this non-traditional romantic date. And if the weather is too cold for a boat ride, a basket of snacks and little propane heater could help turn an ice hut into a cozy, unique date experience for the right, adventuresome person.
